Is Happiness All It's Cracked Up To Be?
In one word...YES! From a simple definition of “a state where all one’s needs are fulfilled” to a more warm and fuzzy “It is a sense of well-being, joy, or contentment”, happiness is definitely a much sought-after state of being. Happiness has always been a “concept” that almost anyone you ask will say they strive for, not only for themselves but for those in their inner circle. As a matter of fact, a study done in 2015 showed that the vast majority of the graduating class of a college in New York State, answered “Happiness” when asked what they were hoping to achieve now that they were finished school!
Happiness is not only that huge smile on your face. It’s a sense of being, a conscious choice on how to live your life. And the word choice is a deliberate one. Being happy all the time may take a bit of work, as life has this funny habit of throwing lemons at you at the most inopportune time. How you let those lemons affect you however, is entirely up to you!
Science has shown that happier people get the most out of life. They believe in themselves, their worth and their capabilities, they chase after their dreams and passions. So why happiness? Why should we always make it a point to choose happiness over sadness or grief or disappointment? It’s simple. Happiness will help you become the best version of yourself.

Here’s the thing, life is always going to get in the way...for everybody, at the worst time, without exception! There’s never a good time for it! Given these facts then, how can anybody be walking this earth in a happy state?
Here’s the key...you see, it’s not the negative EVENTS that stop us from being happy, it’s how we PERCEIVE them that determines our capacity for happiness. And it’s our beliefs and judgments that determine our perception. So, back to the original question...how can anybody be walking this earth in a happy state?
